Using animation video to increase students vocabulary in English

    In the current era, particularly the 21st century, technology is essential. The presence of technology today is very helpful, with the advent of sophisticated technology such as applications or software that are often used in everyday life. In the world of education, technology that can help the learning process of students is also very much needed, such as using videos, PowerPoint, and so on, which make the learning process in the classroom more interesting and not boring, especially in learning English.

    Teachers should be as creative as possible in utilizing technology as a teaching tool. (Sahin 2011 in Illi et al., 2019.),  stated that for a teacher to be successful in teaching, they need to self develop the pedagogy, technology and their content areas individually as different teacher has different approaches in teaching. Teachers' ability to enliven the classroom is very important, therefore they must be proficient in utilizing technology as an approach in the teaching process at school. It is hoped that every teacher will be able to create varied creativity that will certainly attract students' attention.

     By combining TPACK, teachers can create an engaging, effective, and student-centered learning environment. Teachers have to become proficient in TPACK in order to effectively incorporate technology into the classroom, (Kewarganegaraan & Studies, 2019). One of the best references is to use animated videos from YouTube, especially for children or elementary school students, who generally enjoy learning through videos, particularly those containing animations. (Nurwati, 2022), found that the usage of animated videos as teaching tools for English can facilitate a two-way learning process between students and teachers.

    Using English animation movies as a teaching tool can aid pupils in understanding the subject matter. Similar with (Aprilia & Safitri, 2025), state  that  the  animated  vocabulary  video  has  a substantial impact on enhancing students' vocabulary mastery.  According to several studies, it is necessary to present interesting videos such as animations because through them children can see and hear certain vocabulary directly, making them more active in learning.

     Although the presence of advanced technology has a positive impact, there are also negative effects. Therefore, as teachers, we must be more careful and wise in using technology, because teachers are the best role models for their students. On the one hand, especially in Indonesia, there are still many schools that do not have good facilities, let alone technology, because they are still constrained. Hopefully, in the future, schools in Indonesia will improve so that the teaching and learning process can run smoothly.
