English is one of the world’s major languages. Mastering English is essential in the digital age. This is certainly true for us as students of English Language Education. However, learning English which is a foreign language in Indonesia is certainly no easy task.
There are many issues that arise when one is unable to master all the skills involved in English. One of these is speaking, which is a crucial skill in English. Based on my experience of learning English, namely:
1. Lack of consistency
Consistency is extremely important when learning a language, because by practising regularly, we will find it easier to grasp the material.
2. Limited vocabulary
Vocabulary is extremely important. It is a fundamental skill that needs to be developed. By mastering a wide range of vocabulary, we can improve our speaking skills. That is why it is important to expand our vocabulary.
3. Fear of making mistakes or being judged
One of the problems frequently encountered by English learners is the fear of making mistakes, even though mistakes are part of the learning process.
4. Difficulty finding a conversation partner
Another key issue is finding a conversation partner, as it is often difficult to find the right person to speak to on a daily basis.
